Kids Yoga

Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. When yoga is practiced in a class setting, children have the opportunity to connect with others in a non-competitive environment that fosters cooperation and compassion. Yoga teaches children to respect and appreciate themselves, others and the world around them. It also enables them to retain their flexibility of mind, body and spirit as they grow and mature.

I believe a healthy lifestyle begins when we are young. Teaching children to breath, have fun and respect themselves are all important lessons they will use both during yoga class and more significantly, life off the mat. I believe it's important to make each child feel special and individual, encouraging self-expression. Fostering a dynamic, non-competitive environment, my classes give special attention to developing self-awareness, inner strength and respect for themselves and others. In both my classes and camps, I encourage kids to participate, play, sing, imagine and most importantly, have tons of fun while learning yoga.
